The Site
The SUNY-Oswego business program in France is located at the IPAG Business School in Nice, France. IPAG was founded in 1965 and is considered an Établissement d'Enseignement Supérieur d'Intérêt Général (EESPIG, i.e., higher education establishment of general interest). The objective of the university is to reinvest all of its resources into the success of their students, aligning with the university's mission statement "to educate managers for fast-changing worldwide environments and to produce quality research with national and international visibility."

Located on the French Riviera, Nice is a large and busy city with access to important cultural and commercial centers. Nice's economy is based primarily on the non-industrial sector and employment is concentrated in the business and service fields. The city is served by an airport offering easy access to Paris and other cities within Europe. Students can fly directly to Nice from many cities in the USA. IPAG is centrally located in the city of Nice.

The Program
This program is designed for business students who have an interest in business as it is conducted in France and Europe, no previous knowledge of French is necessary to participate in this program. Business classes are taught in English. Students may choose to add a French language and grammar course to accompany their chosen classes in the business program. Students are enrolled at the beginning, intermediate, or advanced level according to their placement exams that they will take once they arrive at IPAG. Students who do have an advanced level of French and a strong business background, may select the business programs for French students, taught in French. Important Dates

The Curriculum
The regular semester load may consist of four or more courses, depending on the amount of credits of each course. The credits listed are in ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System). ECTS credits are not equal to US credits. Students should take at least 24 ECTS to equal the minimum 12 US credits to be enrolled full-time and remain eligible for financial aid. 30 ECTS is equivalent to 15 US credits. Courses are divided by year and semester. As there may be course conflicts between years, students can only take courses within one course year/level and must be nominated within that course year/level when applying. It is recommended that students typically be nominated for the Bachelor Year 2 (BBA 2) or Bachelor Year 3 (BBA 3) level if they are in their sophomore year or above. Housing and Meal Information
IPAG is centrally located in Nice, but like most other universities in France, it does not have residence halls. Therefore, students must find privately owned furnished apartments within close proximity to the school and IPAG does assist in this process. There are many apartments available to rent in Nice as it is one of the most popular vacation spots in the world. Prices range from very affordable to very expensive. Students generally share apartments with other international students they meet before or during orientation. On average, students can find apartments for around €600 a month.

During the pre-departure process, students may need to make temporary housing arrangements at one of the nearby hotels or hostels, which cost approximately 35-50 euros per night. (Details on making these arrangements will be provided once the student is accepted to the program.) During orientation in Nice, students may finalize housing and IPAG can advise students and put students in contact with approved landlords and housing agencies. It can take students around 5-7 days to secure their permanent housing.

Students should visit the IPAG housing website and investigate housing options pre-departure. IPAG suggests several different websites and organizations that can help you find housing before you arrive in Nice. If you have questions about these options, contact your program coordinator and program contact at IPAG. 

Neither IPAG nor SUNY Oswego have any interest in any real estate agency in Nice.

Meals are not provided through the program as students live in apartments and will cook/eat on their own budget. However, there is a newly renovated student cafeteria at IPAG which offers high quality meals for low cost to students. More information will be provided during in-country orientation in Nice.

Flight and Arrival Information
Students in this program will be responsible for making their own round-trip flight arrangements to Nice Côte d'Azur Airport. Upon acceptance to the program, students will be provided with the arrival date, time, and location to be met by a member of the IPAG International Office at the university. Students will need to make their own arrangements to arrive at their housing a few days prior to the given arrival date by IPAG. Official taxis are conveniently located and recommended to use from the airport. There is also a tram from the airport to the center of Nice for €1.50 a ticket and takes around 30 minutes to reach the city center. Further information about when students should arrive in Nice will be given by the program coordinator once the student has been accepted into the program. 

Visa Information
All participants in this program are required to apply for and obtain a long stay student visa. More details and instructions on obtaining the French visa are provided upon acceptance. Note: Non-US passport holders (or dual European Union citizens) may require different procedures. Please contact the program coordinator for more details.

Insurance
All students participating in this program are covered by the SUNY full health and accident insurance as well as medical evacuation and repatriation insurance.

Financial Aid
Students currently receiving financial aid can use their aid for overseas study, and may, in some cases, have their awards increased. Students not currently receiving financial aid may be eligible. Those interested in financial aid for this program should contact the financial aid office on their home campus.
