The Course Information
This 6-week 6 credit internship program is split into two courses:

• FRE 399: These three credits will be earned in a combination of the internship in French, an oral presentation in French, and a written journal in French. These requirements will be assessed by the program director in France as well as EUSA.
• GST 399: These three credits will be earned in a combination of a research paper in English submitted online and assessed by a SUNY professor.

The Internship Program
The SUNY in Paris program works in conjunction with EUSA (Europe's largest internship placement organization) to provide students with internship placements that span all industry sectors. Students will be placed in an 6-week internship in a field related to their major or minor, for a total of 6 credit hours. Some examples of placements include, but are not limited to:

Below are some of the placements of past participants. Please note that these are examples of past internship placements. Placements are unique to each participant and are based on the term, needs of the organization, and the students' level of experience. Note: Applicants for the internship program should have the equivalent of 3 semesters of college-level French language proficiency. The Program Director will meet with each applicant prior to their committing to the program to ensure their language proficiency is high enough to be successful.

Once students are accepted into the program, an internship placement is guaranteed. EUSA will initiate contact with the participants to set up pre-placement zoom meeting, to understand the interests and needs of each student. From pre-departure all the way to the conclusion of the internship EUSA will be there to support each student, ensuring the following:

The Program Director 
The Paris program is overseen by our Paris Resident Director. The Director arranges housing, evaluates grades and credits, and organizes the orientation program in Paris. In addition to these duties, our Program Director is the 24/7 in-country emergency contact and serves as a resource for participants. She is there to advise on day-to-day issues in Paris, act as research advisor for internship participants, and even help with matters such as students' travel during the weekends.

Housing Information
Participants in the summer internship program will be placed in host families in order to reinforce immersion into French society. The host family placement includes continental breakfast daily (usually coffee/tea/cocoa with bread/toast/jam) and 1 dinner per week. Students have kitchen access in their host family for all other meals but students must purchase their own food/beverages beyond what is provided. 

Flight and Arrival Information
Students in this program will be responsible for making their own round-trip flight arrangements to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport. Upon acceptance to the program, students will be provided with the arrival date, time, and location to be met by our Paris Resident Director.

Students are welcome to arrive to another airport or outside of the arrival time window, but in doing so should understand that airport pickup is no longer guaranteed. Students will then become responsible for their own arrival to the residence hall, which is quite manageable in a city like Paris. Students can either take public transportation or a taxi to their accommodations and the Program Director can provide instructions prior to arrival. Some students have found this option to be more cost effective at times depending on the flight deals available. Visa Information
Participants in this program possessing a US passport do NOT have to apply for a student visa. Note: Non-US passport holders (or dual European Union citizens) may require different procedures. Please contact the program specialist for more details..

Insurance
All students participating in this program are covered by the SUNY full health and accident insurance as well as medical evacuation and repatriation insurance.

Financial Aid
Students currently receiving financial aid can use their aid for overseas study, and may, in some cases, have their awards increased. Students not currently receiving financial aid may be eligible. Those interested in financial aid for this program should contact the financial aid office on their home campus.

A non-refundable deposit of $250, applicable to the program cost, must be paid within 5 days of acceptance to the program in order to secure program participation. Any deviation from program requirements must be requested in writing and authorized by the Director of International Education and Programs before the final payment date.
