The Site
Ireland is an island on the western edge of Europe and is a member of the European Union. Ireland's capital is Dublin, a cosmopolitan, Georgian city of approximately one million people. Dublin offers a wide variety of amenities, including theatres, cinemas, and parks. The CAPA Dublin Direct Enroll program at Griffith College allows students to have a true Irish university experience while living less than a 15-minute walk from Central Dublin.
The Program
Griffith College is a small private college centrally located in Dublin. Choose courses from a wide variety of disciplines including hospitality, accounting, computer science, Irish studies, history, and law. The college offers a traditional campus atmosphere in the heart of the city of Dublin. The college offers a variety of student services and clubs and has a diverse student body that includes both Irish and other international students. Courses and Internships
The CAPA Dublin Direct Enroll program at Griffith College offers study abroad students access to a diverse and flexible curriculum in a wide variety of departments. Areas of expertise of Griffith College include courses in the creative arts (Creative Writing, Photography, Film Studies, History of Art, Media Research and Cultural Studies, Photojournalism, Print Media, and Radio), Media (Photojournalism, Reporting & Feature Writing, Radio Journalism, Media Marketing, Investigative Journalism, History of the Media, Conflict Reporting, Newspaper Production, Contemporary Society TV and Sports Journalism and the Sociology of the Media); Human rights and law (Courses in Understanding Society, Criminal Law, Human Rights Law); Business (International Marketing, International Business Management, Media Marketing, Strategic Management, Modern and Contemporary Society, Tourism Studies, Strategic Financial Management, and International Human Resource Management); Computer Science; and Fashion.
Students may also enroll in other courses listed within the Griffith College course catalog. Please note: Griffith College has a longer exam period than the US. While students will finish their courses by the end of the dates listed, grades will not be released until halfway through the following semester (i.e. Fall grades should not be expected prior to Spring break).
Any second-semester sophomore, junior or senior enrolled in the CAPA Dublin program may participate in an internship. Placements are available in a variety of fields that match the interests, talents, and backgrounds of the students. Students intern 20 hours/week over 12 weeks during the semester to earn 3-6 credit hours. Internships include placements in businesses, as well as non-profit and non-governmental organizations. Specific placements will depend on the background, training, interests, and ability of students, as well as their success in an interview with their internship site supervisor, which usually takes place prior to arrival in Dublin.
Housing and Meals
Students live in off-campus apartments within commuting distance to the Griffith College campus. There is no meal plan, but students will have access to a full kitchen as well as be able to purchase meals at the Griffith cafeteria.

Excursions: Experience full-day excursions to Belfast and the stunning Cliffs of Moher, as well as a Dublin city bus tour.
Student Events: Social events and program activities may include an arrival reception, mid-term dinner, a farewell ceremony, and a guided tour of Dublin street art.
Student Safety & Support: The CAPA Dublin team is available throughout your program to assist and support you 24/7 with any urgent situations. We maintain a comprehensive health and safety plan to ensure you have a safe and productive learning experience.
My Global City Program
CAPA's My Global City unique learning immersion program blends local culture and top-notch academics into the experience of a lifetime for our students. A proven education program that combines theme-based learning with unique cultural experiences turning Dublin into your classroom.
A guided visit to Croke Park—a national sports and cultural stadium—takes place the first weekend. Other activities reflect what is going on in the city at the time and may include a tour of “Googletown” in the Docklands, exploring some of the country’s beautiful medieval castles, or joining in on the fun at the many film, food, and cultural festivals that take place each year. The My Global City calendar also offers several opportunities for volunteering throughout the term
CAPA PALS
Students will have the opportunity to be matched with another student going on their CAPA program during the application process. This is a great way to meet new people prior to arrival and have additional support through the support of a “pal” and just another way to get involved in the CAPA Community! You will just need to complete a brief survey about your interests and lifestyle so the CAPA team can find your best match in the cohort! Whether you are a first-time or seasoned traveler, looking to make friends earlier than arrival, or just want a support system to help you as you navigate the process of preparing for living abroad - this program is great for all students!

Visa
Visa information will be provided directly by CAPA The Global Education Network. Students will have to register with An Garda Síochána, commonly referred to as the Garda, upon arrival to Ireland. CAPA will provide assistance with this process. For American citizens, there is no visa to apply for prior to departure. Flight
Students make their own flight arrangements to Dublin's international airport, Dublin Airport (Irish: Aerfort Bhaile Átha Cliath). Students then take a taxi or other form of transportation to CAPA's designated arrival location. Closer to the departure date you will be informed of the official meeting place from CAPA. Do not purchase a ticket until instructed by CAPA.

Insurance
All students are covered by full health, evacuation and repatriation insurance.
Financial Aid
Students currently receiving financial aid can use their aid for overseas study, and may, in some cases, have their awards increased. Students not currently receiving financial aid may be eligible. Those interested in financial aid for this program should contact the financial aid office on their home campus.

Apart from completing the SUNY Oswego study abroad application, students applying for a CAPA: The Global Education Network Program need to also complete the CAPA application at the following link: https://go.capa.org/oswego/. Late applications are accepted on a space-available basis. Please contact our office at intled@oswego.edu for further details.
A non-refundable deposit of $250, applicable to the program cost, must be paid within 14 days of acceptance to the program in order to secure program participation. Any deviation from program requirements must be requested in writing and authorized by the Director of International Education and Programs before the final payment date.
