The Program Go Online. Go Global. Go Beyond! In partnership with CAPA: The Global Education Network, SUNY Oswego is offering you the opportunity to intern virtually and/or take classes online and connect on a global scale. Going online this summer with CAPA and engage in a meaningful global experience without leaving home. CAPA’s online study abroad program uses innovative Globally Networked Learning technology, which will enable you to interact and engage with faculty and other students across CAPA’s Global City Centers in Barcelona, Dublin, Florence, London, and Sydney.

You’ll intern remotely for 20 hours per week for the duration of the program. You will need to submit to CAPA an application, a resume, cover letter, unofficial transcript and one letter of recommendation (professional or academic).

Global Internship Course
Earn 3 or 6 credits while interning remotely with an international organization. CAPA will place you in individualized placement with international, regional, and local companies, charities, and governmental organizations around the globe designed to meet each of your professional interests and career goals. You will also enroll in the Global Internship Course, taught virtually by CAPA faculty.
Additional Course Options Courses use CAPA’s Globally Networked Learning platform to connect you with students from around the United States, and faculty from around the world. Students will be able to choose from a range of courses across CAPA’s global sites, covering a variety of disciplines such as art history, business, finance, history, marketing, political science, writing, and urban/global studies. My Global City CAPA’s My Global City unique learning immersion program blends local culture and top-notch academics and has been adapted for online sessions. Events and activities could include, online cooking lessons, guest lecturers, virtual tours of museums and cities, and more.
Students will have the opportunity to be matched with another student going on their CAPA program during the application process. This is a great way to meet new people on the program and have additional support through the support of a “pal” and just another way to get involved in the CAPA Community! You will just need to complete a brief survey about your interests and lifestyle so the CAPA team can find your best match in the cohort!

Students currently receiving financial aid can use their aid for this program, and may, in some cases, have their awards increased. Students not currently receiving financial aid may be eligible. Those interested in financial aid for this program should contact the financial aid office on their home campus. You can also apply for a CAPA scholarship.

A non-refundable deposit of $250, applicable to the program cost, must be paid within 14 days of acceptance to the program in order to secure program participation. Any deviation from program requirements must be requested in writing and authorized by the Director of International Education and Programs before the final payment date.
