The Site

The Program

Courses
Queen Mary offers a range of academic options across subject areas, with 950+ courses open to study abroad students over the academic year. a broad range of subjects including STEM, law, environmental studies, languages, literature, and business among others. Enroll in a maximum of five courses or the equivalent of 30 ECTS credits, which translates to approximately 15 US credits. Students may choose to study across four different disciplines or immerse themselves in one subject area. VIEW ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
Housing and Meals
Students live in on campus housing in single en-suite rooms in an apartment-style setting with a communal kitchen. Live in self-catered, shared student resident housing on campus or choose a homestay, where you'll have your own room and two meals each day, within commuting distance to campus.

- Student Events: In addition to the My Global Cities weekly events calendar, social events and program activities include access to all campus life events.
- Student Safety & Support: The CAPA London team is available throughout your program to assist and support you 24/7 with any urgent situations. We maintain a comprehensive health and safety plan with staff available 24/7 in the event of an emergency.
My Global City
CAPA’s My Global City unique learning immersion program, blends local culture and top-notch academics into the experience of a lifetime for our students. A proven education program that combines theme-based learning with unique cultural experiences turning London into your classroom. The My Global City events calendar offers a wide-range of CAPA-led and self-led activities and social events each week. CAPA-led events include a walking tour of the iconic South Bank, a riverboat tour to Greenwich, touring multicultural Brixton, a Beatles and Abbey Road Magical Mystery Walking Tour, a curry dinner in Brick Lane, visiting the Globe Theatre, a Jack the Ripper tour, and a Royal London bike tour. Other events may include a history of tea and tea tasting event and a London canal boat and walking tour.
CAPA PALS
Students will have the opportunity to be matched with another student going on their CAPA program during the application process. This a great way to meet new people prior to arrival, have additional support through the support of a “pal” and just another way to get involved in the CAPA Community! You will just need to complete a brief survey about your interests and lifestyle so the CAPA team can find your best match in the cohort! Whether you are a first-time or seasoned traveler, looking to make friends earlier than arrival, or just want a support system to help you as you navigate the process of preparing for living abroad - this program is great for all students!

Visa
The UK Student Visa instructions will be provided directly by CAPA: The Global Education Network. Student visas are required only for students participating in internships and service-learning courses.
Flight
Students make their own flight arrangements to Heathrow Airport or Gatwick. Students then take a taxi or other form of transportation to CAPA's designated arrival location. Closer to the departure date you will be informed of the official meeting place from CAPA. Do not purchase a ticket until instructed by CAPA.

Insurance
All students participating in this program are covered by the SUNY full health and accident insurance as well as medical evacuation and repatriation insurance.
Financial Aid
Students currently receiving financial aid can use their aid for overseas study, and may, in some cases, have their awards increased. Students not currently receiving financial aid may be eligible. Those interested in financial aid for this program should contact the financial aid office on their home campus.
Applications
Apart from completing the SUNY Oswego study abroad application, students applying for a CAPA: The Global Education Network Program need to also complete the CAPA application at the following link: https://go.capa.org/oswego/. Late applications are accepted on a space-available basis. Please contact our office at intled@oswego.edu for further details.
A nonrefundable deposit of $250, applicable to the program cost, must be paid within 14 days of acceptance to the program in order to secure program participation. Any deviation from program requirements must be requested in writing and authorized by the Director of International Education and Programs before the final payment date.
