The Site
The University of Waikato is one of New Zealand's most prestigious universities and is ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide.  With small class sizes, a welcoming community, and a wonderful student life, Waikato is a great place to live and learn abroad!  Waikato is located in the beautiful city of Hamilton on the northern island of New Zealand.  Hamilton is New Zealand's 4th largest city with a close proximity to plenty of adventure-filled destinations.  While in Hamilton, you can take advantage of the incredible surf beaches, cheer on Waikato's rugby team, and enjoy all of the local natural beauty.

The Program
This four-week, experiential summer program provides students hands-on learning in research labs, the classroom, training facilities, and a modern gym.  Students will be taught by some of New Zealand's best sport scientists who are working at the forefront of supporting and developing innovative practice for New Zealand's high performance athletes.  While in New Zealand, you'll be studying Exercise Physiology, Nutrition for Sport, Bio-mechanics and injury prevention, Sports psychology, Athletic coaching, and more!

This program also has a Chiefs Rugby High Performance add-on package.  This package provides rugby players the unique opportunity to train with world class athletes in world class facilities while being coached by some of the best in the industry!  The Gallagher Chiefs have the record for most Super rugby playoff appearances in a row (7) and have 12 current or former All Blacks in their 2019 squad.  In this package, players will get a behind the scenes Chiefs experience - training with and alongside the team.  The personalized positional training program includes tailored strength and conditioning, mental skills sessions, skills sessions with Chiefs attack coach, nutritional advisement with the Chiefs nutritionist and more!  This awesome package is open to both male and female rugby players.
