Q Courses


Interested in proposing a program? We have dozens of Oswego faculty members leading overseas programs every year. You are interested in proposing a course for an upcoming or future term, you may start here and begin program development with our office.

Choose Program Term
To get started with your proposal, decide the period of time in which you would ideally like to run the overseas component of your program. If you're not sure or are flexible with the time, just choose one and we'll work with you to establish a timeline. Below you will find a list of course length options to guide you in the initial set up of your program.
 

Definition of Terms:  
Quarter 2 Course = RM: Q2 The on-campus portion of the course is held during the second half of fall semester. The international component takes place during winter break of the following January.
Fall Course with Travel = RM: C w/ Tra FL The on-campus portion of the course is held during fall semester. The international component takes place during winter break, typically starting in January right after New Years.
Quarter 3 Course = RM: Q3 The on-campus portion of the course is held during the first half of spring semester. The international component takes place during spring break.
Spring Course with Travel = RM: C w/ Tra SP The on-campus portion of the course is held during spring semester. The international component takes place either during spring break or after spring commencement.
Quarter 4 Course = RM: Q4 The on-campus portion of the course is held during the second half of spring semester. The international component takes place after spring commencement.
Summer Faculty-Led Program = RM: Sum The entire program will be held abroad and led by the faculty member for typically four to eight weeks.
                                                                                   
 

Apply and Submit Your Proposal
Once you've decided to submit your proposal, click the "Apply Now" button at the top of this program brochure, select the term, and enter the prospective dates and location(s) of the overseas travel. From there, you will be taken to a screen where you can upload or enter your program proposal as well as view some tips and resources we have for faculty interested in running their own program. Note: Clicking the "apply now" button will notify OIEP of your intent to lead a program and will ensure that your proposal is sent immediately to the Director for review and follow-up.
