The UC Program
Students on University of Calcutta program will engage directly in hands-on research projects in some of the fields listed above such as nanoscience using advanced nanocenter facilities, and atmospheric science, environmental science, and public policy concerns related to environmental science under faculty guidance from both UC and SUNY Oswego.  Students in the natural sciences, technology, engineering, math, and related fields will engage in 4 to 6 week residency-based laboratory and research experience in India, working alongside notable scientists.  The program is designed to promote international understanding of global problems and development of local solutions by enabling students and faculty to participate in scientific research while advancing collaborative projects between scientists from the United States and India.  Students will earn 3 to 6 credits.

Housing and Meals
Students will be placed in available housing near the University of Calcutta.  Information about meal options, local transportation, and other adjustment activities will be provided by the faculty advisors and program specialist.

Scholarships of $2500 each for two students are available.

Insurance
All students participating in this program are covered by the SUNY full health and accident insurance (http://www.hthtravelinsurance.com/students/benefits_abrd.cfm) as well as medical evacuation and repatriation insurance.

Financial Aid
Students currently receiving financial aid can use their aid for overseas study, and may, in some cases, have their awards increased.  Students not currently receiving financial aid may be eligible.  Those interested in financial aid for this program should contact the financial aid office on their home campus.
