Brisbane is a clean and beautiful city; it's the gateway to the Gold Coast, the Sunshine coast, the Great Barrier Reef, the Outback, and the Daintree Rainforest. Brisbane is Australia's only sub-tropical capital city and it is sometimes called the "City of Sundays." Located along the Brisbane River, visitors and residents alike make use of the river taxis to get from one part of the city to another. A 50-acre botanical garden can also be found in the city center, all in a city which assaults the senses with nature and harmony of landscaping.
Queensland University of Technology is located in the eastern part of Brisbane, a modern city with a warm, subtropical climate that has a rich and diverse cultural life. Its two campuses offer courses relevant to the American students' academic needs. The university recognizes that the modern world is changing rapidly and develops courses reflecting this change; Courses at the university maintain a balance of theory and practical skills. It is a dynamic and innovative institution with courses that meet the needs of industry, business, and academic research. QUT is proud of its academic standards and teaching facilities. Students of business, technology, arts and the sciences should consider a semester at QUT. Please note that Semester 1 at QUT is typically from February-June and Semester 2 is from July-November. This program has a limited number of exchange positions available. While all SUNY students are able to participate in this program as fee paying students, the exchange opportunity is open only to SUNY Oswego applicants. Students awarded the exchange will see their program differential reduced (see budget sheet for more details). While early applications are strongly encouraged, a decision is not made until the deadline to allow for all to apply. To apply for the exchange position, complete the Exchange Scholarship Application.
Please note: The application deadline for students wishing to be considered for an exchange position is earlier than the listed deadline. All application materials, including the Exchange Scholarship, are due one month prior to the posted deadline. For Fall programs, this deadline is March 1. For Spring programs the deadline is September 15. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the program coordinator.

All students participating in this program are covered by the SUNY full health and accident insurance (https://www.geobluestudents.com) as well as medical evacuation and repatriation insurance.
National Health Insurance
In addition, students on this program must be enrolled in their host country's mandatory health insurance.
Students currently receiving financial aid can use their aid for overseas study, and may, in some cases, have their awards increased. Students not currently receiving financial aid may be eligible. Those interested in financial aid for this program should contact the financial aid office on their home campus.

A non-refundable deposit of $250, applicable to the program cost, must be paid within 14 days of acceptance to the program in order to secure program participation. Any deviation from program requirements must be requested in writing and authorized by the Director of International Education and Programs before the final payment date.
