The Region
Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, is situated on the banks of the Swan River. Perth is a clean and safe city, despite its population of over one million.  It averages eight hours of sunlight a day, more than any other Australian city.  Perth has miles of white sandy beaches, which allows for a relaxed outdoor lifestyle, and offers a vibrant cultural and artistic community.  During the annual Festival of Perth, international artists, theater companies, and symphonies are drawn to the city.

The University
Edith Cowan University is a large university with five separate campuses.  Students usually attend the Joondalup or Mount Lawley campuses.  ECU offers programs under seven faculties: arts, business, education, health and human sciences, science, technology and engineering, thus offering a wide range of courses for students.  ECU is also home to the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.  Each campus is equipped with modern facilities and all students have access to information from around the world via the university's extensive computer network.  Please note that Semester 1 at ECU is typically from February-June and Semester 2 is from July-November. For most information on ECU, visit their website.

Exchange Opportunity
This program has a limited number of exchange positions available. While all SUNY students are able to participate in this program as fee paying students, the exchange opportunity is open only to SUNY Oswego applicants. Students awarded the exchange will see their program differential reduced (see budget sheet for more details). While early applications are strongly encouraged, a decision is not made until the deadline to allow for all to apply. To apply for the exchange position, complete the Exchange Scholarship Application.

Please note: The application deadline for students wishing to be considered for an exchange position is earlier than the listed deadline. All application materials, including the Exchange Scholarship Application, are due one month prior to the posted deadline. For Fall programs, this deadline is March 1. For Spring programs the deadline is September 15. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the program coordinator.
